Studying composition at university gave me the building blocks to become an adaptable arranger and orchestrator. My commissions have been performed at UK festivals, major concert halls and by professional orchestras.

My musical journey started with the clarinet aged 7, and it's remained a constant throughout my career. I'm always available to play clarinet and saxophone at your event.
About Tristan
Tristan, originally from York, moved to South Wales in 2008 to take up a place at Cardiff University to read music, furthering his studies to Masters level in Music Composition.
Whilst at University, Tristan was heavily involved in a number of ensemble projects as conductor, clarinettist and orchestrator, which helped shape his early career and interest in Orchestral Management. Following a year as Orchestral Manager with the Welsh Sinfonia, Tristan returned to Yorkshire in 2012 to begin working at Leeds Conservatoire.
In his role of Performance and Workshops Manager with Leeds Conservatoire, Tristan oversaw and curated a busy and varied series of around 250 student events and projects each year. These ranged from bespoke workshops and masterclasses targeted at selected students, to large scale and open access events including opera, orchestras, big bands and choirs. Spending over a decade with Leeds Conservatoire gave Tristan a real insight into both the challenges and significant rewards of working in the arts, music education and higher education sectors.
In January 2024, Tristan moved on from Leeds Conservatoire to join Leeds Lieder as their General Manager.
Aside from his full-time job, Tristan undertakes a number of freelance projects as both an orchestral manager and orchestrator / arranger, whilst keeping up his love of music-making as a clarinettist and saxophonist on the amateur circuit. Away from music, Tristan can be found unwinding by running over boggy moortops in and around Yorkshire!
