Clarinettist
Trained at Cardiff University, he held position of Principal Clarinet with the University Chamber and Symphony Orchestras. Tristan played for two years with the National Youth Wind Orchestra of Great Britain. Recent performances have seen him work with the Piccadilly Symphony Orchestra, Leeds Youth Opera and the Yorkshire Wind Orchestra in addition to solo recitals.
Teacher
Tristan has experience in teaching clarinet to all ages and standards, from beginner to advanced, and is familiar with the ABRSM and Trinity examinations and syllabuses. In addition Tristan teaches music theory and composition techniques.
Composer
As a composer, Tristan has spent time working with members of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the Exaudi Vocal Ensemble and the flautist Rowland Sutherland. He has had works performed by ensembles such as the Cardiff University Contemporary Music Group and more recently by catch_22 ensemble as part of a Tour de France cultural exchange event in Leeds.
Arranger
Tristan has taken on a variety of notation based jobs, ranging from arranging for a mixture of ensembles, creation of lead sheets, editorial work and score presentation. A recent commission saw Tristan orchestrate Christmas music for a performance at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester with Jason Manford.
